On this sunny day of March 3th, the 2022 Conference of Head Librarians of Public Library was held in the new Ningbo Library. Altogether 40-some guests took part in the conference: Mr. QIU Jinyue, deputy director of Ningbo Administration for Culture and Radio,TV,News and Publishing, also member of the Party Committee; Mr. CHEN Yanqun, section chief of Art and Public Culture Bureau; Mrs. WANG Feicen, First-class Principal Staff Member; the leader group of Ningbo Library; the head librarians of public libraries at district (county, city) level; the head librarian of Ningbo University Park; the head librarian of Daxie Development Zone; the head librarian of Dongqian Lake Library and all the middle-ranking cadres of Ningbo Library. Head librarian of Ningbo Library, Mr. XU Yibo, hosted the conference.  

Mr. QIU Jinyue, deputy director of Ningbo Administration for Culture and Radio,TV,News and Publishing, also member of the Party Committee, praised highly all the works done by the Public Libraries of Ningbo. The public libraries of our city has been actively carrying out the duties of enriching the public cultural elements, especially the aspect of convenient services, the aspect of internet services, and the aspect of reading resources. All these efforts have contributed greatly to building a modern seaside cosmopolitan city. Yet we should also not neglect those aspects that still need further improvement. We should make the weaknesses our strong points and do our own bits for our city-- the forerunner of common prosperity and a modern seaside cosmopolitan city. The following five years is a key period for Ningbo. We have to pay full attention to building a modern society, as well as to raising the service level of public libraries. The year 2022 marks the seventh evaluation of public libraries nationwide. To prepare for this evaluation, Mr. QIU gave the following suggestions: First, do all the works effectively and progress further on the way of common prosperity; second, make full use of all the available facilities while do our best to build or improve the relevant facilities; third, cultivate local brands which can in turn bring benefits for the whole region; and forth, put efforts in both culture and tourism, also keep in touch with different libraries and share resources whenever necessary.

Then, staff from the public libraries at district (county, city) level summarized the highlights of 2021 and exchanged their viewpoints on the key works of this year. They also presented their working plans for this coming 2022. The leader group of Ningbo Library outlined our key works for 2022 in different areas.

Mr.XU Yibo, the head librarian of Ningbo Library, suggested that the public libraries in Ningbo shall do effectively all the duties in this year of 2022, especially the works that have to do with the coming evaluation and raising service level. We need to learn from Zhejiang Library in these aspects. Meanwhile, we should also pay attention to the publicity works on the key points or highlights. Also, safety works should be carried out without any fault concerning the pandemic situation and the coming 20th Conference of CPC.
