Ningbo Children's Library is located in the Ningbo Eastern New Town Cultural Square, with a total construction area of about 20,000 square meters, and a floor area of 13,800 square meters. The target collection size is 800,000 books, and there are 1,000 reading seats. The service targets are children, parents, and educators. It is the first project completed and put into use among the top ten cultural landmarks in Ningbo. The opening of the Ningbo Children's Library is an important initiative in advancing the construction of a culturally strong city and creating "Literary Ningbo" . It is of significant importance for promoting the construction of a child-friendly city and improving the public cultural service system.

Ningbo Children's Library fully embodies the concepts of "Child-Friendly" and "Graded Reading". The first and second floors are mainly for borrowing spaces, including children's borrowing rooms, the international children's library, barrier-free reading rooms, and the educational toy library. The third floor is a smart interactive space, featuring three major areas: Traditional Cultural Space, Smart Creative Space, and Art Appreciation Space. It highlights the three elements: Ningbo characteristics, technological innovation, and child-friendliness, providing immersive and three-dimensional interactive experiences.

Ningbo Children's Library uphold the service concept of "Equality, Friendliness, Intelligence, and Diversity." With the goal of building a "Children's Literature Information Center," "Children's Reading Experience Center," "Children's Reading International Exchange Center," "Traditional Culture Inheritance Center," and "Family Reading Guidance and Cultivation Center," the library aims to create a harbor of knowledge and love for children and promote high-quality development of children's reading services.

Early Learners' Zone

Also called “Shell Castle”, this 820-square-meter area offers borrowing services and reading promotion activities for children aged 0-6. It includes a toy library, a nursing room, and an accessible restroom.
